Small producers with their seeds and seedlings were located throughout 100 meters on both sides of a corridor. We walked among the stands giving seeds and receiving others that we did not have. In addition to exchanging seeds and mates, the young people from Pacheco shared good advice about autumn planting.
Surrounding the fair, a group of living statues offered fresh water from their bowls symbolizing the shared ownership of water and the need to care for it. Only with gestures they offered water while drums played in the background.
Twice a year, we exchange seeds for the new season in a small fair in town . This time, the fair took place a few days before World Water Day and our Community Center in Pacheco was happy to take their seeds and participate in the exchange ritual.
